Romelu Lukaku had a nightmare today, missing four big chances as Belgium were eliminated from the World Cup.
Despite having a fantastic scoring record, 68 goals in 103 games for his country, Lukaku was unable to find the back of the net tonight.

You may expect a striker to miss one sitter in a game but Lukaku missed four in one of if not the most important games of his life.

Lukaku didn’t take the result well and let out his frustration on the dugout as he was walking off the pitch.

Belgium’s ‘golden generation’ has come to a disastrous end with nothing to show for it. Lukaku has had a terrible two years and looks like a shadow of the player who led Inter to the title.
He must now put this sour defeat behind him and focus on returning to Italy, something which will be easier said than done.
