Podcast With Former Tyrone Footballer Owen Mulligan

Posted by

On this weeks podcast I sit down and talk to former Tyrone football Owen Mulligan. Owen won three All-Ireland’s with that famous Tyrone team in the ’00’s. Owen “Mugsy” Mulligan comes from Cookstown and played his club football with the local club Fr. Rock’s where he won two All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship’s.

Owen was one of the star forwards in that famous Tyrone team that Kerry failed to beat in the ’00’s. The debate always comes up who was the better team of that decade. If we’re being honest they were two fantastic team and the games were great to watch, so who really cares? But Kerry did fail to beat Tyrone…

Owen is involved with the Tyrone under 20’s and spent some time in London managing Fulham Irish. Could we be looking at a future Tyrone senior manager? Owen also runs a pub in Cookstown and Liverpool called Mulligan’s. It was great to get Owen on the Pod, we wish all the best with the Under 20’s this year and his two pubs in Cookstown and Liverpool.
