Oleksandr Zinchenko reveals what he said to Mykhailo Mudryk after Arsenal snub

The Ukrainian defender has revealed what he said to his international teammate after meeting up for their European Championship qualifiers.

Mykhailo Mudryk was seemingly destined to join the Gunners in the January transfer window with the player frequently posting about his love for the club on Instagram.

But just as it seemed that the move was all but completed, Chelsea swooped in at the last minute and snatched the winger up for an astounding £88.5 million.

Arsenal fans were obviously gutted but quickly switched their attention to the plan b, Leandro Trossard who has hit the ground running for the league leaders.

Speaking about the failed transfer, Mudryk’s Ukrainian teammate and current Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko revealed what the two said to one another.

“I told him: ‘It’s gone already, it doesn’t matter what you wanted, what the other guys wanted’,” Zinchenko told the Daily Mail.

“Now you’re a Chelsea player, you signed a long-term contract and you have only one option, only one way: direct and forward.

“Unfortunately he didn’t become an Arsenal player – as I wanted personally! – but it’s life.”
