Ireland defender Diane Caldwell was speaking to the media today and didn’t hold back when talking about the former Ireland manager Vera Pauw. See the video and some of the comments below;

I assume this team are going to go on dominate women's football for the next 10 years, because they won't have many excuses left if they don't. https://t.co/EQzEUn7n7x

Have to think Vera Pauw did an unbelievable job if this is what she had to put up with. https://t.co/QviofH9jSh

Vera Pauw gave Diane Caldwell a run in the final minutes of the WWC against Nigeria in what looked like a sign of respect to a veteran player. That respect didn't flow both ways, apparently… https://t.co/Yu6muzy0bR

Yet again we're seeing people who wouldn't pay a blind bit of notice to the Irish women's team two years ago, now having a go at a 97 times capped player who's been playing for her country for 3 decades AND WAS IN THE SET UP she's talking about. Ffs who do they think they are? https://t.co/xh3VixhsPY

It’s the players who got them to the World Cup, nothing to do with Vera Pauw, but it’s Vera Pauws fault they failed to perform at the World Cup?! Am I getting that right? https://t.co/UHcPwAs3mq

Jesus. I don’t think I have ever seen a more brutal excoriation of football manager in my life. What was going on in the camp?
Have such a dislike for the Irish women’s team after how they turned on Vera ! Wouldn’t have got anywhere without the manager.“a group of players destined for success came together at the right time”. Caldwell has played 18 club games in since 2021. Unbelievable ego.Some amount of blokes on here saying they’ll never watch the women’s team again, as if they ever did before the world cup. As long as Diane Caldwell is speaking on behalf of the team, then fair play to her for having the courage to come out and say it.
