Alexander Zverev updated his fans via social media after suffering a horror ankle injury against Rafael Nadal.

Zverev, who was in the midst of a superb contest with Rafael Nadal at the French Open, rolled his ankle on the floor and was subsequently forced to leave the court in a wheelchair.

It was a dear, dear shame that he had to pull out of the contest because Zverev had gone blow-for-blow with Nadal throughout and had a fighting chance of securing a famous victory.

The match in isolation is just one negative from Zverev’s perspective, with the tennis star now potentially facing a lengthy period of time away from the court and on the treatment table.
